Game REVIEWS
I love this game but, when I got this app again everything was working perfectly until the game starts. The background is all black and the tasks are the ONLY things that have color. I deleted the game and installed it the issue is still happening to this day. (06/20/22) I tried to download it again but nothing has changed. (When I downloaded this game before knowing, I thought it was a new update) I've seen more reviews of this game and found out that this problem/bug is VERY common.
This is a morbid one, but another great set of puzzles from Rusty Lake. Very moody and nostalgic, leaves an impression and has a good mix of simple and complex puzzles for a satisfying game. Not for kids, there's definitely marked violence.
Hi there, since there's a word limit, I'll keep everything short :) (I downloaded Birthday today) 1. Kettle won't boil. Placed on the right-hand side of stove, couldn't move afterwards. 2. Puzzle using the triangular flags in the room with parents can't be solved. Used the hint function, followed the hint, nothing changed. Thus, couldn't proceed :( * Think this has been mentioned, but background is black. Fixed it by changing to low quality but hope this and the other problems get fixed soon!
Great game except that i literally cannot play it. The welcome mat won't work. I reset twice. Used a bunch of hints. Lookedat five walkthroughs. reinstalled. I'm doing nothing wrong, and yet i can't see the damn mat, it's just snow It uses up the kettle and there's just snow. Nothing happens. If the game worked it'd be a 5/5
Amazing! Though there is some problems. If I get the kettle part wrong I can't get the kettle anymore therefore I had to reinstall the game. Two, a major problem, even after reinstall the background is all black as if the file had been deleted but the sprites and game are just fine. Please fix this if you can! Otherwise, WONDERFUL game.
I really enjoyed this game and hope it comes with a minimum age restriction because of what unfolds. This one was the easiest of the 3 I played and had one confusing part to do but only because Grandpa calls something the wrong name (chest not box) near the very end. Maybe a bit harsh for the confusion but also of the violence. Some really clever puzzles in their games & the developer has thought about how the player thinks and vice versa.
Another excellent Rusty Lake tale. I don't know if I'm getting better at these or just more familiar with them but I completed this in less than two hours, so definitely one of the easier ones. That doesn't detract from the playability, or the expected sinister overtones, which doesn't disappoint. I love that Grandpa continues to rock in his chair...
It's a cool puzzle with smooth gameplay. But my problem is, the background was blackout compared to what I saw in YouTube where it has a flowery and pinkish wallpaper. Second, there was no fog in the window that was supposed to be from the kettle which is why I can't complete the game. I don't know if it's only mine or maybe from the game itself. But actually, I love the puzzles. It's really "puzzling". I would change my review if the game is already fixed :)

Hi! Make sure that you boil some water in the kettle to create condensation on the window and then draw a tree. (did you use a match and connect the gastube?) Considering the missing backgrounds, could you try to install the Cube Escape Collection to see if this issue is also occuring?
This is a great installment to the series, however that damn poster puzzle is way too janky. Only a third of my clicks actually register so I'm frantically tapping and nothing happens, or I'm trying to move one and I end over shooting. And once the stack gets too high it cuts off that half. Very frustrating as this is purely a controls problem. Edit: lowering the graphics helped, but is still was frustrating. As if the hit box was too small.

Hey Carl, we understand your frustration. The only solution we can give you at this moment is to lower the graphics quality in the options menu in order for the animation to run more smoothly. I hope this solves the issue!
All of the Cube Escape games are very good, but this was possibly my favorite because the storyline was pretty good and straightforward. It is part of a group of the Cube Escape games that are interconnected via an "elevator of the mind" storyline. I am not sure what order they are supposed to be played in, but they are fun. The puzzles are just the right difficulty - hard enough to be interesting, but not so hard that they are frustrating. Will definitely be playing more!
I liked this one a lot even though I found the setting a bit boring it has at least one major twist and some really interesting puzzles. I am getting the feeling even though I'm playing the games in order there's not going to be any resolution to the larger plot any time soon so just rolling with it! Anyway, this one was great fun to play
Excellent Rusty Lake game! I got pretty frustrated with the controls for the birthday cake challenge, but everything was excellent once i got past that. My daughter is also playing and these games really highlight how differently our minds work. There are challenging puzzles for both left and right brained thinkers so neither of us thinks it's too easy.

That's so awesome to hear, Corinne! Glad you and your daughter are enjoying the challenge and we hope you'll try the rest of our games in the Rusty Lake series. Thank you for your support!
Love these games, but I keep experiencing issues with the game, just little glitches. In seasons it was getting the flower, in this game I can't unlock the cupboards beside the fridge. I click them and it doesn't even tell me they're locked, just takes me back to full view of the kitchen.
A great room escape with a game breaking bug that has not been fixed... in a lot of the games of the series the background is all black instead of showing the appropriate image. This makes hunting for clues and seeing various object extremely difficult, with some objects completely invisible as a result. It has been known for several years but remains unfixed. Games like Paradox or Samsara room dont suffer from this bug.

Thank you for your support! We apologise for the black background in-game, we are currently working on a fix, and we expect to release the update in the next 2 weeks. We appreciate you reporting the problem!
I don't know why but my background is black unlike in the walkthrough. I also can't get the kettle to work/welcome mat to show up. Can't finish the game because of that, it's frustrating, I tried resetting a few times too. Don't have the patience to play something again and again just for glitches to ruin the experience.

Thank you for your support! We apologise for the black background and the other bugs you've experienced in-game, we are currently working on a fix. We appreciate you reporting the problem! edit: there is an update available with a fix for the black background issue, we hope that this solves the problem for you!
was wary of glitches as I saw people mentioning em, but I've played through all the free games in the series without encountering any. I started by playing Samsara Room a few days ago, and since then, my days have been occupied with all the other ones. There are really unsettling dark themes and ambience. Also interesting puzzles to solve. Best of all, I have really enjoyed the interconnectedness of the stories. Can't wait for more!

Many thanks for you compliments and support!
I've never played a more random, weird mystery escape game in my life! That's both a compliment & a criticism. There's a couple of puzzles that defanately needed better clues or just "a clue" period. The artwork & overall retro, vintage style was very amusing though & had a good storyline. Reminds me of the -Forgotten Hill- series of games. If you liked those, this should be up your alley.
I loved the other games, and I've been playing them all in order. There's just some glitch that prevented me from getting the fly. Maybe because I boiled the kettle on the wrong stove? Also, double tapping the postcard keeps it in some compressed state (like how it looks like when it transition from front to back and vice versa). Now I'm going to reset the game, maybe it was a one time thing. Anyways, love your work :))
A fitting addition to the history of Detective Dale Vandermeer, and a good game (also dark). I do get some glitches when going to the settings gear to head to the main screen, and I think this is because of a loading ad. I have to close and restart the game. I hope this glitch fixes since I have seen it in a few of the Rusty Lake series.
I love this series! This one probably took me a few months to complete, I was stuck on one of the flag puzzles... These games are challenging yet beatable with persistence. Sometimes you have to come back to a particular problem a few times but it's all worth it for the "Aha!" moment. Keep up the great work Rusty Lake!
