Game REVIEWS
It's a nice creepy game. Unfortunately, again, there seems to be a glitch (on my phone?) where I can't make the numbers in the frames to show up. I've rubbed and clicked my phone screen but nothing happened. I had to watch the walkthrough to see and memorized the numbers! So frustrating, because I actually have no problem whatsoever solving all the easy puzzles and will be able to finish the game in an hour (maybe less) if not because of this particular problem. I took one star for that, sorry.
Best game from this developer imo. The puzzles were actually pretty straight forward, only a couple hints were needed on my part. One of the puzzles did jump scare me, but it was still good. All in all, if you find some of their other games too complicated or confusing you'll probably find this one much more enjoyable.
I wasn't expecting much from a puzzle game but oh my god. I LOVE it so much. The voice acting, the music, the plot was so good. The gameplay was balanced and fun. One of the best puzzle games I'be ever played.
I've played a lot of your games an I love them, I only gave 4 stars because on the part where you had to swipe the paintings of the lady in the picture it wouldn't register and i had to use a walk through just to get the answer because that wouldn't work, the same happened in "birthday" when you had to swipe the fog in the window, it wouldn't show
One of the more easier Cube Escapes. Odd and, well, odd. The storyline for this series is still pretty captivating. Don't like that the exit button is right underneath the sliding game so when you slide a panel down it exits outta the mini game and you gotta start over.
This one was my favorite of the free games. I love the themes, a little creepy, but makes you think about life, death, and what comes after, and before. The puzzles were good, got me stuck a few times, but not completely unnoticeable. No "there's no way I could have figured that out" puzzles that make no sense. Very good games, hope you make more. Are the paid ones longer? Because length is my only complaint.
Excellent despite being a brief game. I do recommend. Really enjoyed the novel play acts w/ unique variations on old puzzles - well done. Lost 1 star because the toilet bit was gratuitous & unecessary - more offensive than for fun gameplay horror. PLEASE # these Cube games so #s are visible in title when we do a Search. Even if playing in chronological order doesn't ultimately matter (stand alone games) I enjoy seeing the evolution of graphics/game designers/programmers. Thanks.
Love the rusty lake games!! I've played a few of them, not in order because honestly I have no idea exactly what order they go lol but it doesn't matter they are still fun and some are definitely harder than others but not so hard that you get frustrated and end up quiting, just hard enough that you have to keep thinking and figure out what it is you're missing. I definitely recommend any of these. Once you play one you will be addicted and want to play all of them, trust me...

Hi Tabbitha, thank you for leaving such a nice review! We suggest to play the games in the following order: Seasons, The Lake, Arles, Harvey's Box, Case 23, The Mill, Hotel, Birthday, Theatre, Roots, The Cave, Paradise, Paradox, The White Door, Samsara Room.
A bizarre experience, but I liked it for that. It made me interested in the story of the other games. I found the puzzles challenging and only looked up the answer to one of them (mind door--the symbol on the moon looked like a plus sign and didn't immediately register as one of the symbols for me. I didn't realize you had to reveal the others in a similar fashion.) I played Samsara Room before this and appreciated Theatre's story and theming more. Also fewer hints here--might be a good thing.

Hi Grayson, thanks for sharing your thoughts! The story of Rusty Lake is interconnected, if you want you can play them in the following order: Seasons, The Lake, Arles, Harvey's Box, Case 23, The Mill, Hotel, Birthday, Theatre, Roots, The Cave, Paradise, Paradox, The White Door, Samsara Room.
Love Rusty Lake games! Really amazing, just one thing. I haven't played the 'cube escape: theatre' game for some time and when I opened the app today, All my progress was lost! It started from the beginning again...I didn't see any save/load saved games button in the menus either so now I have to restart which is slightly annoyong since I was so close to finishing ㅜㅜ Could this be fixed somehow so we don't lose progress? Thanks!
I've played this game twice, and I would rate it 4 stars only I have just tried to download again, but as soon as I open the app it crashes. Apart from that, the Rusty Lake series is amazing - don't stop making great content! Edit: since all the games have been updated, it works perfectly! I love the new achievements :D

We're very glad to hear you've enjoyed playing our game, Isabel! And thank you for the kind words! If you still experience the issue with the game crashing on launch, could you please send us the details and a screen recording at support@rustylake.com.
This was my first challenge of Cube Escape and I found it amazing and interesting. It includes several meaningful stories with wonderful secrets. Some is so difficult that I even have to watch the Walkthrough. However I think this is one of the best games to sharpen our brains. I want u to try this and you will love it though it is a bit difficult...Awesome game....Love it

Thanks for playing! We appreciate your positive feedback.
I love all the Cube Escape/Rusty Lake games! I have played them both in phone App form and through Steam/PC. The puzzles are challenging, thinking "outside the cube" may be necessary. Playing as a group is fun and also helpful. We found that while I solved some puzzles with ease they baffled my son and vice versa. The creepy story throughout is engaging, and really ties the puzzles(and all games)together, can't wait for their next release. My favorites are Roots/Hotel/Paradise, but all are great!
Glitch at end didn't allow completion! Reset game twice after glitch didn't give me a rope. Neither reset worked after completing all puzzles in the required order and wouldn't let me even make the wine glass notes the 2nd time. Fortunately it's a really short game but I think it's the worst of their non-paid games. Collect stuff that's never used.. why?? If I felt it might help I'd uninstall and reinstall the game but after coming so close to completing it 3 times I think I'm done with it.
This is the second game by Cube that I've come across and it does not disappoint. I can't disagree about the fetus thing. It didn't upset me too much but the game should definitely be flagged as mature if it isn't already. For those stuck on the windmill, you'll see the sequence in the room. I love that Cube never hand-feeds the player; I enjoy that the most. When I get stuck I just step away then come back to find the answer right in front of me. Keep up the good work!
Lost a star because the plunger resolution was darker/more upsetting than expected plus had no bearing on the mythology and no real reason to go that direction but shock value. Rusty Lake is better than that!!!! I love the Cube Escape Series, and the link from Birthday intrigued me. I enjoyed the consistent use of items for information like frames, and I especially like going back to a puzzle multiple times for multiple outcomes. This makes a Cube Escape app better than a Escape Room in person.
Weird and disturbing. But in the best tradition of surrealism it doesn't insist on being understood or interpreted, so it can be enjoyed just as window dressing for some nice puzzles. I would give 5 stars except for a few parts I thought were not intuitive.
Another excellent, longer chapter with very cool imagery and puzzles. I love that while I haven't needed the walkthroughs, they're right there, haunting me and nibbling at my pride to keep me from actually using them. These have all been challenging, but given the format you know that a little creative thinking will get you unstuck if you relax and reevaluate. Very zen.
Rusty Lake is a cut above all others! I was hooked from my very first clue and I've v been sharing the game with others as well. The puzzles are intriguing and challenging and fascinating. At first glance everything seems easy, but it's a lot trickier than you'd expect... Best part, if you get stuck, there's a video walkthrough that shows you what you might have missed. Brilliant!!!
I think im playing them all in the wrong order but nevermind they are still excellent. You can probably complete these in one or two sittings. The puzzles are complex but not enough for you to feel frustrated. These are creepy, brilliant and original and i urge you to try it!
