App REVIEWS
So far so bad! Wouldn't open, sit and spun. Now it's randomly working. They wanted me to rate if I enjoy. What about if I didn't? EDIT: a year later. Broken app. Accounts page shows nothing. They did make certain that the adware banner runs great so they can capitalize off their broken app. Will not update properly when one makes changes to account so one misses payments that one cannot find in the app itself.
The switch from using my AT&T app & Account to using the Direct-TV app (what should be the same as my AT&T) has added to the confusion that already existed. I considered going y o Dish about a year ago. If I don't get a call from a supervisor at Direct-TV, I mean soon I will have to switch. The ability to pay online is a wonderful convenience. However, when a company changes who they are and how to use internet acces, it is very confusing as lead me to want to use one of their competitors.
I've been with ATT for over a decade. This app has always been, across devices and geographic locations, pretty garbage. I can see anything I've ever ordered on Amazon in an instant, this app won't load the most recent month's call logs. Or, hilariously (and slowly), loads an entirely different page. Fix your stuff, ATT. You don't have an excuse.
It is useful for all things regarding your phone plan. In short, it works.. The cons: app is incredibly slow and buggy. If you minimize the app, then open it again, you'll have to log back in, but it will put you back in your place. Loading times are awful. It is not an intuitive app. Sometimes, it will take half an hour to get an item in your cart because it keeps wanting you to trade in your new device. It has had a recent update but it only appears to look different. Function is still slow.
It is difficult to use this app. It is difficult to get into your account. In order to make a payment you have to repeatedly jump through hoops: signing in multiple times, punching in codes to get to your account after using a password, nothing seems to work. Make sure you have time to waste when using this app. Like any body does. Smh! However, I must say, if you do get in to your account, this app runs well. But, you must first get in to experience that. 🤷🏽♀️
Quite possibly the worst app ever put out, especially by one of the worlds top communications companies. Slow to load pages, on every phone I've used it on. Very inconsistent sometimes I can check my call and text logs other times I can't. Sometimes it sends me back to the home screen when I go to my account details. The only thing that is consistent is that this app consistently sux. Shame I need to use it at all, even worse that I need to use it quite often. The website sux just as bad.
Extremely slow, very difficult to navigate, and freezes constantly - even on a flagship device. There have been frequent errors I go to a store to have fixed, and sometimes they still have me call customer service. This method of managing my AT&T account needs some serious help.
This app is so buggy. Its just a complete mess. Trying to do something as simple as checking upgrade status will have you clicking multiple links that may or may not give you the correct info. One page had my wifes phone with my daughters number and daughters phone with wifes number. Another page had them right. Every time I click check upgrade status, the site keeps crashing back to the home page where you have to go through the whole frustrating process AGAIN. App is trash. UPDATE Still Trash
Can't check usage get a blank page once it finally gets there, but boy it takes no time at all to get to page to pay bill....2 years later and still have same issues. Takes forever for it to come up unless of course you are paying bill and that page pops right up no waiting, you can't use any other parts even if it comes up, it will either take you back to sign in page 5 or 6 times or tell you oops there seems to be a problem! 😡 What is the point?
Just purchased a plan and there was a free Hotspot add on deal that wasn't applied. The whole account and setup is by far the worst I've encountered. You bounce around each time resetting the data. You repeat things in different spots. I don't like that part. The data and phone service works great for LTE and 5g. Good signal, a tower is nearby being rural it's still using 4g. That's about 90mbs right now. Good service , the account setup-interacting are concerns.
This app is absolute garbage. One would think with the monthly cost of service (which is substantial) that they could design a more user-friendly and reliable app, but hey AT&T excels at auto drafting your account in a timely matter, so there's that. I'll definitely switch to T-mobile or Verizon at the end of my contract.
App is dated and slow on new phones. Bill breakdown is unclear. I am not able to access phone and internet bill at the same time and have to go to my pc to access phone bills. I also had trouble logging into any ATT app until recently. Any time I would open an app, it would forget my login and make me re-enter it, and tell me it's wrong. If I got it wrong ONCE it would make me reset the account password and then it would work. Logging in again it would make me reset the pass every time.
Can't give a negative star. Not sure what had changed but the app is horrible as well as the web version. For some reason every time I log in I get the error too many attempts. It even happens immediately after password change. I use my att email add so it isnt an old email. Thinking about moving all my business to a different provider.
The interface is not user friendly and load time with perfectly fine internet connection does not make a difference for loading time. I'm often finding myself misclicking links in the app and having to wait to load back to the main page. This app is like the internet explorerer of mobile apps. Please fix the interface to be more user access friendly.
it doesn't work while the service is not available, which is most of the time on this dsl I am forced to use until I find a good rural alternative. Update 2/18/22 Now on fixed wireless, has better speed if it stays connected which it doesn't. The app can't make a speed check due to disconnect so often. Better alternatives are difficult to find though. May try T mobile service.
Annoyed. I constantly keep having to reset my password to this stupid app because it keeps logging me out and won't save any new credentials. Also, it's a very narcissistic practice to require users to have their number registered under an AT&T account fir them to be able to receive notifications on their phone. And I could have sworn this app used to have a biometric feature available, but now it seems people can only log in with their email and password. This app is garbage. 🖕
Just like everything else with at&t this app stinks. Never ending spinning circles when trying to load a page. No way to really look at your account, if you want to pay your bill it might actually work cause at&t are great at taking your money. 3 year later and the app is absolutely worse than before . I now cant even login to make a payment. I believe they make it as complicated as possible to pay to where your service is cut off so they can charge a reconnect fee.
Its been impossible to login, sign-up, or even browse any useful information on the app. Even with an affordable model, I'd expect the carriers own programming on device to be functional. Unaware of any possible way to start service via text or other means. Also, it's very confusing purchasing plans and additional services. I will recommend straight talk, as best prepaid phone, best value and flexibility, and worth it's investment as a permanent choice for mobile communications. STRAIGHT TALK #1
PRO: The app gives you good insight into your account, including data usage, plans, and billing. CONS: The layering of this app is terrible. I presume it's because nearly every click is pulling data from different areas of the website. Often, the options are not properly updated. For instance, it will look to see the status of data on/off for a phone number. It might show off, which is what I want. I'll look later, and it's on. Very unreliable... even after pressing "save" sometimes.
Edited: 12/7/2022 - AT&T and DirecTV separated August 21, but still use joint web-based customer account services- Big, Big Mistake. As a software engineer, the AT&T app, customer website, and app is absolutely useless. Don't call the customer service either. Spent 45 minutes on hold, only to be dropped on an operator transfer. I have my keys in hand, going to an AT&T store to either make changes to my Directv service or just cancel everything.
