Brave Private Web Browser

The best private browser ever. It has built in ad prevention system so you can use sites that have pop-ups with no difficulty. It also has a mini ѴРИ so you can search anything and see the results the same search would produce in different countries. I think the biggest problem is that I keep losing my tabs with the slightest touch. But I guess that's just my shaky fingers : )

This is primarily a review of the windows desktop version as they removed the option to block elements via incognito windows months ago and there's still nothing they replaced/substituted it with, which is still unacceptable. As a frequent user of that feature, there still needs to be a 1st party viable & user friendly replacement. They just decided it to completely remove it from incognito windows & limit functionality forever... I mainly have no complaints with the mobile android version

Phenomenal browser with almost everything built in. Seriously a 9/10 experience. The only thing it's missing is extensions, or at least the ability to filter and block specific websites by name. It would really help my productivity if there was an option to put a password restriction on specific websites that I choose so that I can't enter or alter the firewall without putting in a password. That would make this a 10/10 experience for me

Would love to give 5 stars because it's truly an awesome app. HOWEVER, there's still WAY too many problems. For starters, YouTube. Why not just use the same layout as the app and make life easier? It's incredibly difficult to use YouTube through the browser because both menus are one on top of the other. Also, several of the features in YouTube don't work, like playlists. Next, the miniplayer NEVER works right. It never stays on the video and then it's impossible to move or close it! Fix this!!!

Good, fast, browser, with reliable management of multiple open tabs / tab groups and clean ad-blocking. I wish it had a fulltime reading mode like Safari. Also, the night mode and dark theme need refinement; The biggest thing missing for me, while Tab Groups are brilliant they need a way to automatically sort them into subjects like shopping/videos/etc instead of just the number of tabs, and 'bookmark all open tabs/groups' option.

Couldn't recommend it more. If you keep a portable battery with you, spotify is pointless because the perfect working ad block just lets you stream music ad free all day. No annoying pop ups. Not a lot of distracting anything around the border. Easy to use, if you can use any other browser, this will be no problem. Some platforms like Tubi dont seem to want to work on Brave, but other than that one specific type thing (and not on all, it works fine on some), I only have compliments.

When I started using this browser, I was happy that I finally found a fast browser with in-built ads blocker UNTIL I discovered that the Brave search engine still needs a lot of improvements in the website ranking system. It couldn't even show a website I searched for on the first search results page. This is really annoying, frustrating, and disappointing. I hope that you fix this very soon. Thanks so much.

Excellent browser for temporary/private browsing. It includes a setting to completely erase your browsing history (and cookies) every time you close the app. That way there is no record of any websites you may have accessed. The best part is that it blocks pretty much every single ad. Browsing the internet is SO much better without all the annoying ads.

it's nice actually not gonna lie.. because at the beginning whenever I tried to watch some movies online but there was always adds everywhere..! even if I clicked on the screen the adds would just pop out of nowhere, and it was way too annoying. But after when I installed it .. it's pretty nice to use....and it can also track a lot of fake websites and after that there was no adds anymore...so yes, I definitely would love to recommend it.

It's really good. It's 100% a better option than chrome or any browser because of it's Ad Blocking feature and ѴРИ. It works really fast but i have a problem when i start the app, for a few seconds it's just a black screen. Sometimes it takes too long and i just restart the app. But other than that i definitely recommend it.

It says it's supposed to block pop ups and won't allow redirects for pages but it does. I keep getting redirected to YouTube and other websites when I'm not clicking on anything. I don't see any ads on the pages I'm on but it acts like I'm clicking on some anyway, even if I'm just scrolling down a page. It's really annoying. Doesn't work like they say it does even though I've made sure all the settings for that stuff are on.

Images stopped working a little while ago, now forces you to go through a different browser for images. Also changed tab view awhile ago, instead of seeing a nice card with the content of the tab in 2 rows, there's 1 giant stack of tabs that doesn't display the page content. AFAIK there's no way to change back to the old, much better view. Blows my mind why they'd update it to be worse. Please tell me how to change it, cause it's so bad I almost want to switch to Firefox. Other than that it's ok

Very good! A few MINOR upgrades would be great and make this everybody's choice of browser. It is finished, but it lacks some bells/whistles that other browsers have mastered. For example; I wish there was a way to bookmark favorites to the home page as speed dial. Secondly; the video issue others have brought up: video starts, stalls, buffers - and that's it - vid never restarts. The only way to watch the video is in another browser. Happens constantly.

This browser is sadly no longer compatible with my device. There are just too many things not wanting to work correctly amymore. I am uninstalling very soon. Widget is incompatible, causing constant crashing issues, not cool. Youtube videos are becoming incompatble. Lots of settings are not functioning properly any longer. Time to find a different browser.

After trying lots of browsers, settled on this one. Glad I did. Very reliable and fast. Adding and editing bookmarks does job, but not intuitive. Can rearrange order of tab thumbnails and group tabs. Favicons are made smaller than they need to be and put in a circle, which is a waste of space and makes them harder to see. One thing I hate...sometimes when I click a tab the wrong way it closes for no reason...you can undo it, but have to do so in a few seconds. Make a way to avoid this please.

Years ago I had given up on Brave because of issues with the app. But now it's my go to on mobile, and often on desktop. The one issue I really have with it is that the search feature keeps getting worse, which isn't directly the browser's issue. But results seem to be getting worse, and the new AI summarizer is awful. It will give straight up wrong answers, sometimes contradicting itself. It can be turned off but it keeps turning itself back on.

If you have more than 10 tabs open and leave it running for like an hour, then try to switch between tabs, this will cause the tabs to automatically reload. This behavior is intended to save ram or whatever, but can't be turned off by the user. Cuz they know better than you when you really wanna lose what you were doing on a page. BTW, this makes a complete mockery of their 'data saved from ads' meter. Saved 0.8Mb? Good, good. Now just reload the whole page bro. Too bad, but Im uninstalling

I loath ads, so I refuse to use any other browser, period. It has all the functionality and features of other browsers, like grouping tabs, dark mode, etc. But it also blocks all ads and even scripts if some pages are really annoying. I don't even use the YouTube app anymore, because Brave performs better AND blocks all the ads. It's speedy, and have never run into any scenario of incompatiblity. Seriously don't use anything else.

Thank you for the response. Also, i was able to solve the address problem by stopping and restarting Brave. The problem began after the last update. Didn't realize i needed to force stop the browser. [Review] Why do random searches show up now in the top sites? Also there used to be a method to set preferences there. I'm also unable to edit or delete stored addresses.

No more ads popping up is such a huge deal! I don't have to worry if my kids will see inappropriate game ads when they're watching cool science videos on yt. Game changer. Love the protection it gives us! Be aware that some sites won't work properly if they can't use certain trackers. Brave does make the cookies options easily customizable, so that's a bonus, too. It makes it so you can use a page without all the extra junk. Thanks!
