QUICK FIX to errors (was away on business for a couple of weeks)
-USGS changed how to talk to their source, took a bit to update the http protocol from an older deprecated version.
-Slightly modified quake map circles
-fixed problem where selecting a magnitude 5+ earthquake would crash the app.

OKQuakes App DESCRIPTION

This app requires internet access to function, as it pulls the data from the University of Oklahoma’s earthquake list on the web. As of 1.07, the app also requests data from USGS. This list isn’t always up-to-date with earthquakes; from what I can gather, there are some limitations to OU’s automated list.

Based on my own observations, it seems that OU’s computers only add larger earthquakes automatically, while smaller earthquakes may need to be manually added by seismologists when they review the list (hence usually less reported earthquakes on the weekends).

This app is NOT an automated app (the user must run the app to obtain the list), NOR does it store any data on the device after execution, save for the new user tracker (used by tutorial) in version 1.05+.

Features of this app:
*Converts the time from UTC to your device’s time settings.
*Google Maps integration to show where earthquakes on the list are in the State of Oklahoma.
*Color-coded pins for earthquake strengths.
*Click-able list of earthquakes (with color-coded magnitudes) to bring up the Google Maps location.
*Menu access to view all quakes on the list or just those in the last 24 hours.
*Estimated earthquake intensity radius per: B. Gutenberg and C. F. Richter. “Earthquake magnitude, intensity, energy, and acceleration: (Second paper).” Bulletin of the Seismological Society of America, April 1956. 46:105-145.

This app is completely free as a public service to concerned Oklahoma citizens. There are no ads in this app, nor does it collect any information. It depends on OU’s earthquake list, and will cease to function properly if this list is changed or removed.

Earthquake Tracker shows you all recent earthquakes from around the globe.
The Earthquake app shows you all recent earthquakes from the United States and all around the globe. The earthquake tracker app can inform you of an earthquake shortly after by sending you a notification. So it is an essential application on all smartphones!Earthquake Tracker App FEATURES:● Map: See the earthquakes on the map ● Search: Search through earthquakes by using custom filters such as area or magnitude.● Notification: Enable notification in the app, to receive notifications for each earthquake.● Earthquake Satellite Map view● Earthquake Terrain Map view● Earthquake tracker app● Note: Notifications may be delayed a while.● Problem receiving notifications: Switch off battery optimization for the app.● Filter: Determine which earthquakes to be shown (filter according to distance from you and the size of the earthquake)In the “Featured” section, you can see exciting data such as the number of earthquakes in the last 24 hours, the most significant earthquakes, and the most recent ones near you.The Earthquake data is being fetched from the United States Geological Survey Service & Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center.

In three stages learn to identify vessels by their lights (from all angles).
This app helps you to learn the vessel lights as prescribed by the International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (ColReg).Learning in this app takes three stages. In the first stage "Study", the vessels can be browsed, and each vessel shows its lights from the side as well as from the top. A unique feature is that the vessel can be rotated by swiping, so that it can be viewed from all angles. In the second stage "Practice", random vessels are presented from a random angle, and in side view. Make a choice out of four answers. It is possible to cheat in various way: asking for the correct answer, rotating the vessel, going back to other vessels. The final stage is the "Examination". There is no cheating here. Random vessels from a random angle. Case after case. The timer is running. When the examination is finished, you are rewarded with a report. And, another unique feature, you can review your answers. The app has some customization features such as choosing the amount of questions in the examination, whether to beep..

It's a very simple app, I like how all of the dates, Times, And locations are listed on the main interface. Also, I like the fact that's it's just for the state of Oklahoma. The User Interface Could Look Just A Bit More Professional. Other than that, Its a great app!!!

This app needs updated daily. We have earthquakes on weekends to . It's not updated from Friday evening til Monday mornings

Simple and easy. Suggest that darker color choices be used for the magnitudes. The light blues and greens are barely legible against white background.

Thank you for your input! Asking some family and friends, they agree with your suggestion to make it darker. It may be a bit before I can get an update out on it.

I have always been interested in earth quakes trying to find out what makes them happen. Is the bumper of the saltwater dumping that is causing the shifts in the plates

Update July 11, 2015 - Thanks for fixing it. I'm glad to be using it again and have adjusted my rating.
----------
Yeah, the underlying issue was USGS changing their subdomain name from comcat.cr.usgs.gov to earthquake.cr.usgs.gov which caused the app to fail to load. It was still loading OGS data - just not properly handling failure (I still need to correct). Worse, I was away on business for two weeks when they changed things and couldn't fix it right away.

Thank You. It is now working, now I can give you 5 Stars.

App won't update. All I get is a blank screen

There's a fix in queue for publication; I was away on business and USGS changed their subdomain name.

A good app but would be helpful if you could set it to notify when a quake occurs somewhere in the state.
----------
I've been considering this and may still do this... the only problem is, earthquakes are only updated infrequently on these data sources (could be 5 minutes or days to show a particular quake). Ideally I'd like to monitor the seismographs near real-time, and I've spent a lot of time researching that, but it remains unworkable thus far.
