after updating the app won't stay open. closes constantly. hate it with a passion.
The ideas cool renting games through the mail, but twice in a row now I never got my items and now it says "pending investigation" in my app. I feel like it should be shipped through something other than the USPS when it's something expensive like this.
I'm really glad GameFly is still around. I think it's a great product. As far as the app that's a whole other story. As long as I can remember the mobile GameFly app has been bad. It's always buggy and real slow. I updated it yesterday and it seems that they finally fixed the optimization issue. The app seems to be running smooth and the pages are loading faster. Now the issue is I don't have a search option...smh. They almost got it right. Please fix.
Thieves and Liars! I signed up for a 30 day free trial, and was asked for my card information. I was told about a hold on my card--fine. What is NOT fine, however, is the fact when I entered my card information, it put a hold on my card, and then the app continued to act as though I had not put my card information in even though MY CARD WAS CHARGED. No customer service available! I have NOT received the services I have asked for. The app is NOT fluid and you STOLE MY MONEY. I WANT MY 30 TRIAL
They intentionally take a long time to send games. It takes 5 days from when they say it's been shipped, which they blame on using USPS. Then there's the taking over 2 days from when they get the game til they ship the next. They also skip games listed as "highly available" in your queue. Netflix used to send your next disc when they got notification you mailed in your one at home. It's over priced, it takes more then half the month waiting, but they don't have competition so why try or care?
Why advertise games you don't offer? I signed up to rent 3DS games. There is a 3DS section, but none of the games are available. Why would you design a website or app like that?
gamefly itself has always been pretty great, app has improved so much. gone are the constant app freezes and repeating "not responding" pop-ups. in it's place are awesome sort and filter options. it took a while, but thanks for all the improvements.
I pay $32 a month for 3 games at a time and on a return I get the #1 pick first if available until 3 days then I get any in top 5. All are available haven't got nothing shipped in 6 days
Service is great, app sucks. I had gamefly 20 years ago as a child and loved it. I had gamefly for a while in 2017ish and it was great. I don't recall having any issues with the app. The app now(2023) is glitchy and has a hard time loading pages. Most people would call this app broken. And it is. It makes no sense why after 10+ years of app development your app barely functions. Why do your pages load on dial up speeds? Pages don't load. Pages don't load. Pages.... don't load. Fix your app, pls.
Easy to use app except for the fact it shows all the systems instead of just the systems I have and I also can't filter results so I don't have to scroll forever to find new games
I love gameflys service but I hate the app it always crashes and it's slow, so gamefly please fix this problem cause I have uninstalled and reinstalled this app multiple times and it's still slow and crutches all the time is a real hassle to keep existing out the app and try to look for games to put my Qlist.
**UPDATE: the Edge browser on Series X works fine for managing the queue, it might just be a problem with Android/chrome.** The app is nearly impossible to use. It freezes when you tap on a game to read the description and when you go back to the queue. I've spent over half an hour just trying to add a few games. Gamefly as a service is great but that doesn't matter if the app freezes every time you try to use it. This has been going on for a years despite several updates. PLEASE FIX THIS APP!
This 5 star review is for the service, NOT the app. The app is clunky and slow to respond. It can get really frustrating taking 5 min to do something that should only take 1. As for the service, i love it! Ive had it for years and it has saved me literally thousands on video games!
First, for those considering Gamefly, let me say that the service, is great. I love it. As for this app, not so much. I hate to think that my beloved Gamefly has abandoned me. I would rather believe it to be my phone than the app, but it looks like I am not alone. Very slow while scrolling, it freezes up, then I have to shut it down and go back into it to continue. I can still get the job done, but it's a chore. Selecting video games to play at home should be a fun and enjoyable experience.
App has been unusable for a few years now. It's unacceptably slow and sluggish and crashes nearly everytime I use it. Used it on multiple devices, deleted and reinstalled the app multiple times, tried different networks, nothing makes it work. Seems the issues plague their own website as well, I don't know what's going on but everything needs to be fixed because I not only can't use the app but I practically can't use the service I pay for.
This app is pretty much unusable. It freezes and crashes during every single use. When it actually does load up, it will only work for about 15 seconds, then back to freezing and crashing. App is really bad, so I use the website, which really isn't much better, but I can at least get through the order process. Can't say the same when using the app. It'd be nice if they fix the app, but I'll be deleting for now since its useless for my needs.
This app has been updated at least a dozen times since its "overhaul" and it is a sluggish, infuriating mess. Crashes every time you try and scroll through any section. I wanted to give the developers time to fix it before I rated the app, but a year of this is enough. The app is broken and needs to be reevaluated. Been a Gamefly customer for years and this app used to be fantastic, but it is the worst app I have on my phone.
While the layout and menus are all well laid out and easy to navigate to find what you want, the app itself seems to be incredibly poorly optimized. Unsure if it's my phone or not(Samsung Galaxy A50), but it constantly gets stuck loading stuff or locking up. And for long enough that my phone thinks the app legitimately froze or crashed. Will update to 5* if this ever changes, as I have no problems with anything to do with the app besides this. 🙂
Great service, except that it's unquestionably the worst app I've ever used. Slow, freezes effectively constantly, UI is counterintuitive. Very nearly enough for me to cancel the service. Especially since the website is almost as bad and on some days worse. Can easily spend upwards of an hour trying to find and add a single game to the queue or reorganize it. And it's been like this for well over a year. And since the last time I had the service. I'm on a flagship ffs. Fix this, already!
Great service, but the app is a little lacking compared to regular website. Some features missing (move to top, game lock) and browsing titles could use an "all games" option. Also it's not made very clear if something is going to be shipped. You move something to the top of your Q and just wait I guess. Would be nice to have a visual representation that it's going next and a tooltip on how it works like (this title ships next! You have 4 hours left to change your mind)
