Do not download!! This app is pure garbage. You listen to a podcast that you're subscribed too. It goes away...but then it randomly appears back in your feed. Most the times it's marked unplayed like you never listened to it. The developers don't have an option to mark all podcast played, whether that's at the individual podcast level or the entire unplayed list lmfao....wow Google. They will reply with the same cookie cutter statement about taking the ideas into consideration...

took some getting used to but I like it now 👍 I listen to podcasts a majority of the time in the car. And Google podcast has lots to listen while driving. Works great with android auto. One thing I've noticed later is while listening to a podcast and the phone is on the sleep mode I can no longer pause, fast forward or back up what I'm listening to. It's kinda a nuisance. I've looked at my settings but can't figure it out. I would also add they should have a way to rate podcast you listen to.

Worst thing about this so is 2-3 times per 1 hour episodes the player skips either forward or back anywhere from 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Not sure why/how but has gotten to the point where I can't stand it and will be switching. Decent ability to navigate to find/play podcasts to listen to. Pretty poor organization and episode navigation options. No home screen widgets. Poor execution on Google's part here. Do not recommend.

Simply put, the app will just stop playing a file and soft-exit itself. I'll listen to one or two minutes, then have to reopen the app and download another instance of the show. It's genuinely infuriating, especially as it seems to get worse when using wifi. So if I want less interruptions, I have to use mobile data, which has a limit for decent speed. So this app is definitely working my nerves.

fails at its most basic. I have one single podcast that I listen to and even there it doesn't notify me of latest episodes, doesn't update with latest episode for hours even days, episodes randomly don't play, and a myraid of other such basic issues. Forget extra stuff like search and discover podcasts, it can't even handle one single podcast that's a known subscription. This isn't an app issue per say, mind you, this is a problem with the service itself.

Easy and straightforward to use finding your shows is not difficult listening to your shows and downloading them for offline enjoyment again is straightforward. There is a nice feature that will automatically download a new show for you when it is put out by your favourite content creators. This way you can always be up-to-date with the latest podcasts.

Brilliant podcast app. Look no further. After years of using Pocket Casts they forced a pride logo on everyones phone so they got uninstalled. I had a look at all the others but they all collect data. Tried Google's app and it's fantastic to be honest. It has all the features I need and is well designed. Great app!

I've used the app for several years. It consistently fails to download subscribed casts. Sometimes even if I have downloaded a cast it fails to play it bc something got messed up with the file. I love the simplicity of the app, but it really sucks. Need to find a different app. DO NOT invest your time with this if you listen to a lot of podcasts offline.

I have experienced some bugs (I still absolutely love this amazing app though!) that I would kindly request from the developers to fix. 1. Sometimes fails to download the episode for offline use. 2. And probably the most annoying of all, I have set the theme to "dark" but the app randomly auto-turns to "light" even if the setting mode is still set in "dark". To change it I have to manually set it to "light" and then back to "dark". Also please add the extremely useful "download to SD" feature

It automatically plays every time my phone connects to a Bluetooth speaker such as my car or headphones. Even if I've closed out of the app or completed the podcast, it automatically starts back up, sometimes hours or days after I've completed the podcast. I've disabled autoplay but it's done no good. Super annoying

At first it was great but just within the last month, all my podcasts will just start over for no reason. Like multiple times to the point where it's to frustrating to try and listen. I've resorted to listening on Amazon. If it's a bug our a better version please let me know. I'd rather use your app

Great app but needs an important feature. When you listen to your playlist and finish a pod, it starts playing the one at the top of your queue. OK fine, simple solution would be to move the next podcast to the top but this become cumbersome because you have to drag each one to the top of the list. The play sequence needs to be changed or add a button/function where the podcast can be 'moved to the top of the playlist' Fix this and you'll get my 5 stars

Usually pretty stable and reliable but the past week or so, it's been super glitchy and playback has been stuck in "buffering". Not because of lack of service or bad connection; YouTube and other apps working just fine with no issues. Haven't been able to listen to any podcasts today because of the buffering errors, despite running updates and restarting my device numerous times.

Has historically been great, but lately I'm having an issue where playback will randomly jump back several seconds or even several minutes, and sometimes it will then cut off the last few minutes entirely. It's happening frequently across many different podcasts, so I'm sure it's not poor editing on the production side.

Updating my review because there have been no recent upgrades made to the app. It looks like they're going to replace this with the YouTube music app because it just got podcasts. However, from Android Auto, it's pretty difficult to get to the podcasts from there. I liked having the two apps separate better. I might try the new YTM features but I will miss this app.

I have always used Google podcasts and loved it aside from the fact it plays your downloads in order of most recently uploaded to not instead of oldest to newest. Lately though my app has been having a lot of issues. For hours at a time it will only show my widget bar at the bottom and a black screen so I am unable to listen to anything. Anytime I try to remove a downloaded episode it will reappear and often I it will fail to download new episodes even if my subscription is set to auto download

Update I still love the app.,and I would love to see an eaiser way to search for new podcasts. love using this app! It is very easy to navigate. They could improve a bit on the categories. It can be tough to figure out where they sort some of the more obscure podcasts. There are some podcasts that don't fit nicely in any one category.

I'm new to Podcasts and I am very very impressed with the wide selection, variety, and range of offerings on this app. There are minimal ads and they seem to depend on the Podcasters themselves. I haven't had a single issue with downloading or queues or stopping, starting, pausing, or anything. I can listen while my phone is locked, and easily access the controls from the lock screen, which means the app uses hardly any battery and it will play in the background if I want to do other things w

Only if the show notes were better! Long notes look so cluttered. I listen to a podcast that has quite a lot of information in the notes, and I have to use Spotify for that. Also the lack of reviews is a definite miss. Could save a lot of time when looking for new podcasts if there were reviews. Downloads don't work often as well. The clutter free UI is good, but these issues are making me reconsider.

Google Podcasts is a good podcast app that gets (almost) everything right. The interface, like most Google apps is clean, simple, and modern (the latter can't be said for Snapseed, with an interface that looks more than ten years old, but I digress). It has all the podcasts that I listen to on it and this is my default podcast app, in contrast to Apple Podcasts and Amazon Music.
