It's called YouTube Music. If I wanted to watch the video I would get on YouTube. I don't like that I get music video versions even on my Google home with it turned off. This leads to video versions of songs with dialogue and other noises not related to the "radio" versions of the song. This is just one of the many things wrong with YouTube Music. Google Play Music was much better.

I have one big playlist made of up music I like, of all metal music, and I have two relatively minor gripes that would make the experience better. Firstly, if I find a song I don't like and I dislike it, my recommendations are adjusted but the song stays, and it's impossible to find the specific song out of 1500 to delete it, if you dislike a song on your playlist, it should be automatically removed. Second, songs should be added on auto if it's in the same genre, not because of similar aspects

One thing i do not like is the fact that during shuffle on my "Likes", it doesn't play every song, which makes me restart the shuffle and re hear songs. I get its based on how much I hear a song. I do enjoy YouTube music more than other music apps for just the simple reason of having the option of the actual music videos( like it used to be back in the day of MTV music videos and VH1), videos with the lyrics or just the karaoke version, in one music app.

You'd think that a company like Google, with all the money they have, would be able to make a decent music app. Or at least one that is comparable to the one this one replaced. Instead we're stuck with this subpar app. It's been over 2 years since the merge and nothing has been done about the "song is unavailable" glitch. It's so wonderful not being able to access 1/4 of my library due to this. It's almost become a game, opening the app and seeing what song's I can't listen to today.

For those who have a large personal music library who wishes to listen to them, this app is worse than Microsoft's Media Player and the freeware version will constantly suggest signing up for their premium service. This app does not work for music library management. Metadata cannot be edited, and thus clean-up/corrections are impossible. Most of the metadata sorting features found in other music library apps are also missing. Thus, playing all songs of a certain genre is impossible without creating a playlist, which is time consuming without the typical methods of grouping songs\albums. And, there is no bulk selection features. Thus, if you wish to remove songs, they have to be removed one at a time, or by deleting one album at a time. Essentially, the app wants you to pay to listen to their song library, and listen based on their recommendations. What happened to "don't be evil?"

Not good. YouTube Music is continuously trying to get me to sign up for a subscription when I don't need one. Google Music was so much better, mainly with respect to your own Library. The search formats are not as refined. For example, you can't go to an artist and see what albums they created. You have to instead go to the Albums section of the library and try and find the specific album you are looking for. If Google made these changes, it may improve my rating.

I love this app and use it all the time. The only thing that I've noticed is an issue is when you're sharing to another device like a TV and playing music, the queued up playlist messes up when you try to take a song off or you try to rearrange the list. It just keeps resetting to the original order it popped up as not how you want it.

Great app. But there is one problem I can't seem to fix. Even when I have supervised mode on it plays clean songs even though I didn't add the clean versions of whatever song to my playlist. I deleted my playlist and got a new one with the same songs and no clean versions. However, it started playing clean versions for no reason. I don't know if this happens to everyone, but it does get really annoying when the song skips through the curse words.

Edit: The app will stop playing in the middle of a song, and status bar disappears too. Good, but I still miss the Music app. On the other app, I had my podcasts, I had my music, and was really pleased by how easy it was to use. For the most part, YouTube music has much of the same aspects, except if you want to listen to podcasts, you have to use Google's podcast app. It's a first world problem, but I think it's pretty standard for Google to take 2 steps forward and one step back.

Best music app yet. Uncanny with the music it picks for me, the more you pick artists and thumb up/down, the better it gets. Artist playlists can be a bit skimpy and will often contain the same songs as a different artist. It's not perfect but at $11 per month for premium subscriptions for both Music and regular YouTube, it's well worth it. Vast library, offline downloads (for on the plane), you name it.

I love this app!! I foolishly left to try out Spotify and don't get me wrong, for some people Spotify is everything they are looking for in a music app. And that's great for them. However I am definitely a You Tube Music app person 100%! They are the only app, and I've tried them all, that actually plays all the different genres of music that I love to listen to. I have a very wide variety of music genres that I enjoy and with You Tube Music I get my super mix filled with an awesome mix!! Thanks

It's pretty good music service. One of the few that lets you upload your own stuff and access it remotely. That said, I don't know why their shuffle feature is so weird. Shuffle is heavily influenced by algorithms and never just gives you random tracks. And if you use shuffle a lot it predicts you want to hear the same stuff over and over again that the shuffle was already playing. Here's to hoping that true randomized shuffling comes back someday.

Anyone with a fancy audio system should stay away from this service. Not being an audiophile, I honestly wasn't expecting to be able to tell the difference between this app's highest quality audio and lossless audio from a competing service in my car's premium audio system. But I did and YouTube Music's audio quality was downright atrocious. It almost felt like listening to an 8-bit recording, particularly with higher frequencies. At least the interface and music selection seemed competitive.

Overall a good experience, especially when used with Google Home, tablet and phone. The sound quality is great, I love how I can infuse music videos into my otherwise song heavy playlists, and I love the ability to upload my own music and listen to them on any device. Would really like the ability to upload album art. Would like to be able to reorder tracks in my Playlist. The Android TV version needs work. Uploads do not show in Playlist. Interface is too similar to YouTube.

Great Content, but the app just stops after each song. So if you're trying to workout at the gym, you're spending more time restarting the app than exercising. I haven't been using it much lately bcuz of the constant crashing. Sucks, I pay for premium and this doesn't feel premium at all. But sound quality and variety of music is fantastic so I wish they would fix the issue.

*Update, it also can't (or won't) play without video (real bummer if you're watching data) or keep playing if you minimize it. On top of that, it randomly turns on in the background. You get 3, maybe 4 songs, then it pauses to "check that you're still there" and puts your phone to sleep. If I wanted to constantly fiddle with my music player, I'd get a record player. I want something I can set down and let go while I'm cooking or relaxing, and this "feature" completely kills that.

YTM is . . . better than it was initially, and it's still not as good as GPM. Some issues that may also but you: 1. It often decides to play the video version of a song while listening through Android Auto. This is obnoxious because the videos often have sound effects, breaks in the music for dialogue, or other things unique to the video that don't make much sense when the video isn't playing in front of you. 2. I STILL CAN'T SUFFLE A PLAYLIST FROM THE START. FIX THIS.

I'm still not impressed by the crossover to YouTube. I had to go into setting to stop it from adding thumbs up videos to my liked playlist. This feature should be off by default. You don't want people watching these videos while driving do you? Also if you want to download for airplane mode you have to make sure it's just the song and not the whole dang video. The default settings are the biggest issue.

In order to listen to music with the screen off you need a membership costing at least $13 a month. You might as well use regular YouTube or YouTube premium as it does the same thing. The songs that are in my liked list the longest are the first to completely disappear from that list. Even though you pay to use the app you still need a wifi connection to use it. Data works but only occasionally. Every time I connect my earbuds a random song will start playing even when the app is closed.

This application is absolute hot garbage! It's latest failure is that most of my downloaded music has lost its title and track information. Not to mention that some of my downloaded songs have been replaced with weird versions of the same song. How does that even make sense google? I guess I'm going to have to go back to the old days of downloading and curating my own music.
