Game REVIEWS
Very cute! I love Catbird, and it takes you in such an adorable journey. The levels are just hard enough and the graphics are great! There aren't too many ads and if your go offline there are none. I love this game and have had it for a long time. I've noticed that the ads happen exactly after 7 deaths so keep that in mind.
This game is impressive, the pixel art, the sound effects, UI design, I really love them. But there's a major issue with this game, well if this actually made to be a hard game, then alright but still it's hard not because it's hard, but unfair. the physics and level design is unfair to players, making it hard. However i love the time trial modes and the game did a great job on introducing the game's mechanic. overall this is amazing
I honestly love this game- it's fun, and the puzzles are challenging but not frustrating. The sound effects and music are really nice, and the concept is overall very cute. However, there is a problem with the controls. I really wish there was a way to make the controls bigger, and a way to move them so you can adjust them- because on the phone I have right now (Google Pixel 6a) it's really difficult to play with the way the buttons are set up. Other than that, it's a great game.
This is a great game with amazing graphics and art. It has a nice cozy feel and is challenging. I've replayed this game once and it still felt fresh. The one thing that wasn't good about the game was the controls. The jump button was slightly cut off the screen and I had to hold my phone an awkward way to use it. The controls cost me many levels. Other than that, I love this game.
This game is great. I love playing it while listening to podcasts and such and you can tell that this game was made with care. I would have given it a 5 but there is one problem, the difficulty spike. For the first few levels it is perfectly fine, but after that it is basically just a rage game, which is fine, but it comes out of nowhere. And what makes it worse is the adds, which at first were basically no problem, but neer the end it feels like they play every second because you die so much
The levels are really fun and challenging. It gets harder as you go and the ads aren't extremely bad. Ads only pop up once you die maybe 10 times or more. Though the buttons are cut off on the screen and for my screen, it's hard to see the menu button. And I wish there was more levels to beat. I really enjoyed playing this game and I even convinced my friend to get it and he loves it. Please make more levels and fix the button layout.
This game is almost perfect. It has few ads and has so much potential. The only problem are when ads actually appear. From looking at what it does after the ad ends, it looks like you didn't really implement ads the intended way. My Spotify stops playing when an ad pops up, as it should, but never get the message to start playing again afterwards. It also logs back into Google play as if it just left the game and went back in. Another problem is the screen being cut off on the right.
Like the people who have newer, wider screen phones, I too, am having a problem with the controls as they're too stretched out on one side and cannot reach the rest of the on-screen buttons. It's a really charming platformer with pixel graphics and an awesome music score. Too bad it's hard to enjoy with my current phone. I think you can use a Bluetooth controller with this but it sucks that if I don't have that, then I'm stuck with the on screen controls.
The levels are challenging yet fair and everything feels polished. My only problem with it is that the far right side of the screen gets cut off on my phone (Pixel 5). The jump button is halfway off the screen and the pause button (I'm assuming it's in the top right) is completely off screen, and therefore can't be pressed. The "skip" button during cutscenes is also very far off screen, with only the "S" in "Skip" being visible.
Ok: so a lot of people have been having issues with the controls, but I personally haven't. This game is ADORABLE! The music and the graphics, it's SO. CUTE. I have been playing it on another device which cannot interact with corners of the screen, but it was fine with this. Anyway, this could be a little bit challenging, (I almost rage-quited once) but you feel so proud when you finish it! Anyways, thanks for making this game, it's a total time killer and great entertainment! ❤️🌿
Fun game, only issue is the placement of the controls. My hands start hurting after playing for a couple of mins because the buttons are too low on the screen. Would be great if you could move them up, maybe enlarge them a bit or even better allow custom placement. Also, the whole of the right side could be made the jump button, that way you don't have to display the button which means all the more space to show off the lovely pixel graphics.
Excellent graphics and music, great challenging levels. Like it a lot. I just recommend that all the crowns should be to give the catbird powers or abilities, like being able to walk through spikes for a few seconds, or being impervious to the dangerous blocks, or being able to swim through water for a few seconds instead of dying, amd make the crowns different colours to show the different ability being obtained at the time. That would be awesome. Otherwise, definitely a fantastic game!
Graphics is great. Love the concept and the art. Gameplay is challenging enough. The only thing I think should be improved is the controls ☹️. The jump sometimes doesn't respond quick enough it leads me to death. It's so frustating because each time you die they send you all the way back to starting point. Anyway, good game.
I've finished the entire game, and unlocked all the extra cat birds you could play as, but no way am I doing the time trials 😂. Definitely one of my favourite platformers. The people saying this is too hard, yes it is hard, but that's the point. I struggled over so many levels but I eventually beat them all, you just have to work out a strategy. Please give it a try!
Great game actually. Delightful soundtrack. Very hard indeed. The controls are actually pretty decent contrary to what the other reviews are saying. Maybe it's too hard for them. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is stability and framerate. For a game this primal in graphics, it really has a lot of stutters and skipped frames which make the difficult platforming sections very frustrating! Still definitely worth the measly amount they ask for an ad free experience.
I really love this game, but there's only one reason that I'm not giving it full stars; the jump, pause, levels and settings buttons are mostly off of the screen. The jump button isn't a huge problem (I can still use it quite easily), but the settings, pause and levels button only show a sliver in the very top corner of the screen. This problem is probably exclusive to my phone (a Nokia 7.1), but I think it might be a decent idea to add an option to adjust the screen? Thank you! And great game!!
It would have been 5 stars if there weren't any sudden fps drops/lag spikes. Later levels, and certain parts of levels, require precise movement; with the aforementioned problems it's super frustrating to die tothings you otherwise wouldn't have, and have your progress reset. Besides that being the only problem, this game is great! It's a wonderfully made game, with cute pixel graphics and animations, great level design, and good controls (for a mobile game), SFX, and OST.
Wonderful retro music. Lovely color scheme and the 8 bit style is amazing and nostalgic. Gameplay is very similar to an old super mario game. There are no lives which I really love because it takes pressure off you on levels that are difficult. Amazing game if you like the retro style gameplay. Ads are totally non-intrusive and infrequent, you usually can skip them quickly as well.
I think this game has a nice art style, controls really well and has good platforming challenges. It also has very little ads which is always nice. I only have one slight problem, and that is tge difficulty curve. This game goes from nice and easy to hard far too quickly. For example in the first world the first few levels are for helping you get used to the controls and then suddenly your faced with saws and giant pits. I wish theg handled this a bit more better but overall a fun game.
One of those games so good that they shouldn't be free. Smooth controls are key to a good platformer, and this game has exactly that. The game also teaches the player the mechanics of the level through trial and error without any hand-holding, and also manages to use the controls creatively. I mean, there are only two controls - jump and fly. Yet each level manages to be complex and challenging with just those two controls. Character and environment design is also charming and endearing. I honestly believe that if this was released in the 90s this would have been a classic.
