App REVIEWS
This browser is my favourite on android, the only problem I have is the video assistant. When a video loads, you get 3 buttons that show up. I prefer using this feature because you can scroll and fullscreen more easier, but the 3 buttons in a previous update could be placed anywhere on the screen. But now it will only go to predetermined locations, which can interfere with what you want to do at that time. So I have to wait for it to disappear.
After I click on a Google story link on the search front page of the Samsung internet app it doesn't open the full story automatically. I can only view the full story after I swipe down to refresh the screen. If I use the Google app directly I don't have the same issue.
This is most practical browser i found over chrome and any others. Adds can be eliminated with touch of button. It has page back and FORWARD button. Search bas can be set at bottom. Rarely used apps not required to be installed in phone, just use their web version by adding in Feb list, saves lot of space. Loads of useful features.
I enjoy using the Samsung browser. I think it's easy to navigate because of the multiple windows I can keep open in multiple tabs (I think of them as one day per searching).
Good browser, but only one negative point, which is the history page. I think UI of the history page is not easy to use, and somehow too simple. Please redesign the history page. And one other problem, is that when it's loading a web page, sometimes it doesn't show the line which means it's loading up there, so I don't know whether it's loading a web page or not. but the rest is good 👍
stop asking me "Download 545567.jpg again?" that pop-up is soooo annoying!! yes I don't care about downloading duplicate pics. but this prompt I can't stand. it should only appear above a certain file size. also add ability to save Tab sessions. so I can clear my 70 tabs for a clear mind then restore later on.
since i installed the latest update my internet has run unbelievably slow, were websites dont even work 95% of the time, not sure if its just mine but nothings working! ive deleted internet history & cache, ive deleted & reinstalled samsung internet, ive cleaned all drives with the paintbrush icon, ive reset tablet, ive closed all applications to increase ram, ive done a wifi analyser test & there are no competing routers from other nabours, ive turned router on & off, ive done wifi speed test?
I got this device 5 years ago and Samsung browser has always worked best for it, providing the most features, but maybe Samsung make their devices so other browsers can't offer certain features (eg screen zoom), I really don't know. I also don't know how Samsung uses the data collected by it. But the browser has never given me any issues, so I'm assuming all the negative reviews are from people using devices not made by Samsung.
The dark mode used to be quick and simple, like drawing a curtain. Since a previous update, this mode needs to completely refresh the page before it appears, which makes it too slow. And I'm still waiting for the possibility to alphabetically sort your bookmarks and bookmark folders, like almost all other browsers can. But I do like the addition of the zoom button, making zooming and text adaptation possible without adjusting the font size. And I'm glad the outline of the current tab is back.
need improvements.. I'm using this since this is the only optimized browser for samsung tablets. This browser takes the advantage of device and s pen's capabilities to the next level. But my tab s8 plus still faces aspect ratio issues with couple of sites like flipkart and while taking facebook, getting warnings like "Unsupported browser".. Need fixs in these areas..
I only hive one problem with the main use I use the app for is the high contrast mode. Why the hell is the color invented and why do I have to go to setting to make the apps color more bright to say. It should already be bright and high contrast. There is no reason that I can see to invert the color when on. This is a hig thing for more. If not for you use it. At the end of the day I don't care what other do
Samsung Internet refreshes on it's own when I don't want it to, especially when watching a video on Facebook. Then there's absolutely no way at all to get back to the video or where I was when it automatically refreshes itself. How do you keep it from automatically refreshing itself or turn it off? Also, the new updated version makes you tap the top left of the screen for "BACK". I already have a "BACK" button at the bottom of the screen that is now USELESS for "BACK" function for Samsung
Newer updates = Slower Loading Time. It's feature packed for sure but it has its ups and downs. First off, it has the best NATIVE dark mode feature of all Android browsers. By that, I mean it doesn't need any extension to darken any website, unlike Firefox's Dark Reader. Second, the tab bar is a rare gem, it's like Vivaldi but cleaner, although that browser's good as well. If you want a desktop-like tab bar / switching, this is THE ONE you've been looking for. And lastly, QR scan feature.
I have marked "Discomtinue use of Samsung Internet" in the app settings at least a Zillion times... but it continues to come up in the middle of almost everything I do on the phone. Will even start up when the phone is sitting unused!! If this annoyance continues, I will have to consider switching to a different phone. I have had many Galaxy models over the years and have never seen this happen with the others... My current device is the S22.
I like the ad blocking feature and its ability to sync between devices (through a Samsung account). The downside is it doesn't autocomplete URLs based on your browsing history, which is a common feature. If you want the url to be autocompleted, you'll need to save it as a bookmark first which is silly.
I don't know why everyone is complaining. It is the stock browser that comes with the phone and therefore offers the most security options, ad blocking and antitracking features that work perfectly with the operating system and it gets updated and improved with every phone security update. I personally don't need anything else and am annoyed when chrome gets used because I clicked on a link in an email.
Samsung Internet has become extremely annoying. It keeps popping up when I don't need it! I'll be in the middle of Facebook or even a search inside Google Chrome and here comes Samsung internet and unwanted ads! It sends me to a couple different websites that I want nothing to do with. I've blocked pop ups and tried everything I know to try to get this error from happening. It all started on August 5, 2022. It won't allow me to uninstall Samsung Internet. Very frustrating!
App responsiveness is terrible after the latest update. It's really laggy when opening many taps, every taps become less responsive, laggy and also force to close. Video player is also become terrible to control. Sometimes it won't respond my clicking on Full View Screen button (floating button) that I have to click it a few times to make it responds. Overall using experience is not great. Please fix the issues! Thank you.
Way more useful than the rest of web browsers created by this point in time. I open up a document with whatever it is written in. The switch from one browser to Samsung web browser is exceedingly easy and allows you to place a shortcut on the Home Screen of your phone and pull it up in an instant because Samsung has done it the right way. I translate every open website over to the Samsung Galaxy Web Browser after I have signed into the website of which I intend to create a shortcut for!!!!!
This browser seems to freeze and lag often when trying type or view web pages. Sometimes clearing the browser cache or cleaning up the device memory helps. Other browsers don't seem to have this issue, and so I think it's an internal issue with the Samsung browser. Update Nov. 4, 2022: For quite awhile I keep getting these pop up while browsing that says something about installing a certificate, but there is nothing to install. This glitch in the browser software needs to be fixed.
