The most used app for public transport: more than 5 million users in 2022. The 9292 app combines all current train, bus, tram, metro and ferry timetables of all public transport companies in the Netherlands in 1 app. Is a trip canceled unexpectedly? The app automatically provides current alternative travel advice

9292 travels with you
Thanks to the travel planner of 9292, you can plan all your trips in Netherlands with the train, bus, metro, tram, and ferry. Need to travel by bicycle, electric bicycle / scooter or a rental bike? We can include that in your travel advice. Enter your trip from A to B and we will immediately show you up-to-date travel information for all public transport in the Netherlands. And the app is also prepared for showing Flex-OV such as the watertaxi in Rotterdam. In case of any changes, we will show you an alternative travel advice. The up-to-date public transport planner provides live public transport info for NS, Arriva, Connexxion, Breng, Hermes, Keolis, RRReis, Qbuzz, EBS, U-OV, RET, HTM, GVB and Waterbus.

E-ticket for the entire journey
You can buy e-tickets straight from the travel advice in the 9292 app. The affiliated public transport services for bus, tram, metro and ferry are Arriva, Breng, Connexxion, EBS, Hermes, HTM, Keolis, RET, U-OV and Waterbus. For all national trains, these are NS, Blauwnet, Qbuzz, Connexxion, Arriva and Keolis.

Music on the go
Plan your journey in the 9292 app. At the bottom of the travel advice of your choice you will see the button “Playlist for this trip”. This will take you to the Playlist Generator. On this page we create a playlist based on the travel time of your chosen travel advice.

Occupancy expectation
During these times, it is important to take into account how crowded the train, bus, tram or metro service is for your travel plans. The 9292 app displays the expected occupancy per mode of transport for each travel advice, as communicated to us by the transport services.

Bicycle pre- and post-journey
Under ‘Options’, you can indicate if you want to walk, cycle or ride a scooter at the start or end of your trip. This will give you the most complete advice with all relevant information for travelling from A to B. You can also opt for an electric bicycle or rental bicycle. To make it even easier, we also show you bicycle rental locations if you select bicycle. Very useful for covering the last bit to your final destination!

From/to
The app has multiple options for selecting your location of departure or arrival: your ‘current location’ (via GPS), a known location (shopping mall, station or attraction), an address or bus stop, your contacts, and even your frequently or recently used locations.

Unique starting screen
Enter your favourite locations and routes on the starting screen by using the plus-sign. This turns the 9292-app into your own personal app for quickly planning your trip from A to B, without needing an account. You can also add a bus stop or station you frequently use to your starting screen this way. Now you will always have access to the up-to-date departure times of that stop.

Save travel advice
Want to save a specific travel advice? You can! Simply use the plus-sign in the top right corner of the travel advice. You can find your saved travel advice by using the menu in the app.

Route on the map
The travel advice shows you a map with the route of that advice. Press on this and you will see the travel advice step by step on a detailed map. Now you can swipe through your entire trip!

I used to like it a lot, but since the recent change, when you see the option in the list and want to click and see more details, it NEVER shows you the correct one you clicked on, but another random one, you need to be very careful to check the time!! Sometimes it quires multiple taps for the correct one, which is absolutely horrible!! Updates: no! it's not solved not matter I updated it or I deleted and redownload again!

Route planning itself works fine, but clicking a specific trip usually opens the wrong one (the same route but at a different time). Having the app open in the background for a while also often causes route planning to stop working entirely, though this is fixed after closing and re-opening the app. Searching my own saved places by name also does not work.

Can you make a paid version for like 3 euros? The app itself is great, but as others have pointed out: When you click on any option, it almost always shows you a different option. I hope you can give this feedback to the technical team. Here's why this is happening: Your advertisement placeholders have a different size than the advertisements. This app is no more good im having trouble on the bus and metros because the tickets cant be scaned by gates on the entry of metro also on tram the bus driver told me i dont have ticket and the ticket whas still availible. Basicly u pay something that u cant use. I dont recomend at all better skip!!!

Hi Rudi, thank you for your review. You can scan the e-ticket barcode to open the gate. In some cases, you cannot scan the e-ticket. Please show it to the driver when entering the vehicle. Not good, too many bugs for an application that has been running for so long. Also simply doesn't show optimal routes. Think too much resources used in collecting your data and showing adds instead of functionality.

Always really loved the 9292 app. But already for quite some time not working. Displaying "your internet connection is offline". While internet is working and app has permission to access internet. When this happened a month ago uninstalling and installing worked. Now not anymore

Used it during a holiday from the UK, incredibly useful. You can put in your current location and a destination shop, address or anything and it'll give you accurate directions wherever in Amsterdam. The prices next to the transport options are often cheaper than the ones you'll get when you pay for the etickets so just double check, but they're always very affordable.

This app is very unuseful if you need ti take bus #2 in Eindhoven. Not only ot shows the arrival of the bus late or early, but also when the bus line is cancelled, the 9292 does not show it.It is a big inconvenience because the bus #2 goes to the Woensel only ONCE PER HOUR.So when you check this app an show up in the bus station, you actually have to sit the for another one complete hour for the bus to HOPEFULLY show up Reply: easy to reply like this when you're not the one freezing in bus stop

Please fix these bugs: Having to tap back and re-select because the app will not load content on first tap. E.g. I'll tap on a route and the screen will hang at loading the connections. Going back and selecting again, the connections list will now load. Also very often tapping on a particular connection, detail information for a later connection will be loaded. Tapping back and re-selecting will then load the correct details. Both of these occur on a fully updated install, very annoying.

I used to love this app and recommend it to anyone visiting the Netherlands. However in the last updates bugs have started happening. You can press on a trip you want to take, and then it will show you the same trip but 1hr later... so you expect to press the right one but get shown a different one. That makes catching the right bus impossible.
