Firefox Fast & Private Browser App DESCRIPTION

Get the people-first browser that’s backed by a non-profit.

It’s a new era in tech. Don’t settle for a browser produced by giant, profit-driven, data-hoarding tech companies. Firefox is the obvious choice for independent, ethical tech that respects your privacy and gives you more ways than ever before to tailor your internet experience exactly the way you want it.

Firefox is backed by the non-profit Mozilla Foundation, whose mission is to ensure the internet remains a global public resource, open and accessible to everyone. When you make Firefox your go-to, everyday browser, you’re also joining a unique (serious nerd cred) community that’s actively helping to diversify the way people experience the internet.

Firefox is extremely private for a reason — and the reason is you.

We want you to have an amazing experience every time you use Firefox. We know feeling safe and secure are foundational for enjoying your time online. Since version 1 in 2004, we’ve taken privacy seriously, because we’ve always been in the business of valuing people first, over everything. When you care more about people than you do about profits, privacy naturally becomes a top priority.

DIFFERENT DEVICES. SAME TRAIN OF THOUGHT
Now you can search for things on your laptop then pick up the exact same search on your phone and vice versa. Your Firefox homepage displays your most recent searches from your other devices so you can easily get back to what you were doing or thinking about.

LIMITED-EDITION WALLPAPERS
Introducing limited-edition wallpapers from independent creators. Stick with one you love or switch it up anytime to make your Firefox match your mood.

STREAMLINED HOME SCREEN
Pick up right where you left off. See all your open tabs intuitively grouped and displayed along with your recent bookmarks, top sites and popular articles recommended by Pocket.

GET FIREFOX ON ALL YOUR DEVICES
Add Firefox across your devices for secure, seamless browsing. In addition to synced tabs and searches, Firefox also makes password management easy by remembering your passwords across devices.

PRIVACY CONTROL IN ALL THE RIGHT PLACES
Firefox gives you greater privacy protection while you’re on the web. By default, Firefox blocks trackers and scripts such as social media trackers, cross-site cookie trackers, crypto-miners and fingerprinters. Also, you can easily choose to search in private browsing mode. And when you close private browsing mode, your browsing history and any cookies are automatically erased from your device.

EASY PASSWORD MANAGEMENT
Firefox makes password management simple by generating unique passwords and remembering them across devices.

FIND IT FAST WITH FIREFOX’S SEARCH BAR
Get search suggestions in the search bar and quickly access the sites you visit most. Type in your search question and get suggested and previously-searched results across your favorite search engines.

GET ADD-ONS
Full support for the most popular add-ons, including ways to turbo-charge powerful default privacy settings and customize your experience.

ORGANIZE YOUR TABS THE WAY YOU LIKE
Create as many tabs as you like without losing track. Firefox displays your open tabs as thumbnails and numbered tabs, making it easy to find what you want quickly.

SHARE ANYTHING IN A FEW TAPS
Firefox makes it easy to share links to web pages or specific items on a page with easy, quick access to your most recently used apps.

Im using this browser mainly to watch yt without ads. Overall its a good experience altho there are some bugs which are annoying. When you reopen mozilla the yt tab is often black and you have to open another yt tab to be able to watch. Also, if this bug doesnt occur, the videos themselves are just black without visual but audio only so it forces me to restart yt.

My good old trusty browser. I'm a loyal Firefox user since the time it came as an alternative to internet explorer and have never stopped using it on desktop ever since. on mobile I feel that read mode is a feature that I use a lot, since I do a lot of news reading on my phone. It provides a decluttered version of almost every page that helps me concentrate on the text. And when occasionally I need to open a website that doesn't have a proper mobile version or none at all, desktop comes to help

Update: THE best browser for overall experience, privacy, Ad-blocking, add-ons, and stability I've used. My primary browser and although some pages work better with Brave or Chrome this works 99% of the time and gives you additional capabilities that make it way worth it. Prior issue with blank page loads and install welcome screens for existing add-ons from September 2022 took 2-3 months but was ultimately fixed in full. Knock on wood.

everything a browser should be and more. only minor issues with slowness and that's probably all on me, my phone and how it's configured. if you're looking for a browser that isn't going to sell you to the highest bidder and doesn't charge both arms and half a leg for basic service, this is your sign. download Firefox.

Firefox as always is amazing, it's fast, secure, and much better at loading HTML than Chrome. Although, it's been a couple of years now and the print option is still unavailable. The recent save to pdf feature is good but doesn't fulfill the requirements.

The hiding of the tool bar just isn't consistent when compared to browsers like Opera. End up having to scroll all the way back up to the top of the website to get it to appear again. Hate how when you want to type in the address bar, it loads up the homescreen all the time which causes nothing but a laggy experience. Could do with the option to let you type in the address bar, but stay on the website you are on.

It waits 5 seconds to load a very basic web site, then loads some, then waits for another 3 seconds to load the rest. Beta and Nightly same too. No tablet interface is also a big plus /s. You also get unsearchable history and unsyncable collections. No sandbox, so security is a mess too. I really want to use it but it looks like Mozilla is kidding me.

I just wish they would have an option to bring the old-style Tabs page back. In older versions of Firefox, when you clicked the button on the top-right that shows the number of open tabs, the tab you are currently on would shrink into a tile on a grid and the whole screen would be a grid of your tabs. Now, half the screen is taken up by the grid of your tabs, and the other half is just the currently open tab, using up half the screen real estate on something we don't need to see!

I wish I could give this app a 5 star but unfortunately, I would be lying! I am using this on a Chromebook because, I have a Shopify Store and Shopify will only support an updated version of Chrome. Well chrome is no longer updating my device so I had to switch to Firefox. However the App is super slow and crashes constantly in the middle of important work and zoom meetings! I have to restart my computer several times. There's no copy and paste capabilities! What??? Such a huge inconvenience!

Although I've encounter my fair share of annoyances with this browser, the ability to add extensions (including ad blockers) and have media continue to play while my phone is off (including youtube) makes it leagues above google. The ability to sync tabs accross devices is also really nice, and I feel that Mozilla is dedicated to user privacy in a way that Google is not.

Stable browser that runs reasonably fast even on older devices with a lot of customization options, privacy features and a plethora of addons. I've been a satisfied Firefox user on the desktop for over a decade and its mobile counterpart doesn't feel any less great. To this day, I still feel like Firefox is the best alternative we've got to a web dominated by large corporations, especially when it comes to Chrome. If you care about a freer web, Firefox is the way to go.

2023 Update: Firefox for Android has become preposterously slow, to the point of unusability. Applied every recommended "fix" with no effect whatever. All other browsers work fine. 2022: New Android version has no way to access tabs or menu bar directly. Everything now requires going through menu buttons. Once users enjoyed the ability to customize these functions but that functionality has been removed. Mozilla is determinedly making Firefox less and less user-friendly for some reason.

Two stars down because it is impossible to do online payments. After switching to my bank's app to approve a payment, the checkout page reloads. Another star down because the accessibility view also stopped working on some sites. (Clicking on the icon does nothing) Another minor inconvenience: when going to home page to switch website, it creates a new tab, always adding up to the list of open tabs that are no longer needed.

I love Firefox on computer. Firefox app is inconsistent on Android, there are times when it works flawlessly. Then there are times when it will load endlessly. I tried turned off add-ons but none of them resolved the problem, leading me to believe it's the app itself. Chrome however doesn't have this issue, I hope to see the issue fixed. Edit#1 February 2023: issue still persists.

This only applies to the Chromebook...and implementation is saddening. There's no right click, shift click, or even alt-click functionality so no open in new tab option...or copy link function. No access to the extensions or add-on store as it were. You get a very abbreviated list of add-ons under the menu but maybe 20 at the most. I'm sure it's got a lot to do with Google doing what they do, but it's not nearly as friendly as it is on the Android platform.

My Favorite Browser! From the looks to how it functions, everything is Great. It's Fast, secure and Sync works perfectly across all devices. It even has Extensions, my Favorite being: Dark Reader. I like how it's possible to customise Wallpapers and also where the search bar can be placed. My Favorite feature would be how I can immediately send links from Phone and it automatically opens on the PC. Definitely the Best overall Browser I have used so far.

I still don't understand why is there not an option to "Always show desktop site" without me having to click the switch every time. Honestly for tablets that should be the default setting. Additionally, even when you click the option, if you click a link inside the page, or leave the app, or breathe wrong, IT WILL OPEN IT AGAIN IN MOBILE MODE. Very infuriating. Sorry Firefox, I love you, but this is extremely aggravating, specially when you use applications like teams and outlook.

The Firefox for Android team would love to invest more in optimizing the browser for tablet devices. At this time, however, the team’s focus is directed towards higher priority items on the product roadmap. We do hope to revisit this with time and resources permitting. -D

This browser is okay at best. The password manager is sketchy. It doesn't fill in usernames and passwords like it says it does you have to search for them in your list of saved passwords. Autofill names and addresses doesn't work. And for some reason it no longer suggests a strong password. Ever. You can't choose the bookmarks on the homepage, they're just random ones it picks. The desktop version is pretty good but the mobile app is not a quality product.

It's a lot faster and easier to use compared to Google Chrome on my phone. Easy to navigate, visually appealing, sometimes crashes (don't listen to that part, as my phone is full on storage, lol). I use the private browsing so it doesn't keep getting full with cache. My phone kept getting overloaded with Google files and cache from Google Chrome, which is just way too much. (Removed files via PC) I'm quite happy with this browser and will continue to use it. Thank you and have a good day.

Overall I'm pretty happy with it, and with adding on the extentions it really becomes an ad block king. There are a few issues I have. 1. Swiping, such as through photos on Google images, requires me to push all the way to the edge of the screen and hold it for a second. This is very inconvenient and it should just be easier to move about. 2. Some sites feel like they're trying to load as desktop but I'm not in that mode. Is a bit clunky but mostly worth it still.
