App REVIEWS

Jiahua

Appreciate making the tables white in dark mode. Some words in tables are, however , also white in dark mode, making them unreadable.

Please check again; we fixed this.

Steph

Version is buggy, suddenly very slow to load, if at all. And am getting a lot of "An error occurred".

Peter

Stopped working normally after last update! Had to uninstall/reinstall to rectify. Mobile app is becoming a dumbed down version of website IMHO.

Fran

I truly liked the wikipedia app in 2012 and back... then came the new app from wikipedia and I just uninstalled the app and used the browser until 2022. gave the new wiki app a try again last year. it's not easy to use as the old one. also saving article should save it offline automatically non just bookmark. too many steps to access the saved pages. FIDDLY. I ask wiki to check their old app and bring back the way the ease and feel it had. thanx. ⭐

Maya

I like this app. My only problem is sometimes I will look up short simple questions and there will not be anything written about that certain thing. But otherwise I think that this app is a pretty good app, would recommend.

John

Love wikipedia, and I have donated money. But does reading list sync even work? It seems like I have to open every article one by one to get it to sync offline to save data like to read articles on a plane.

Anirudh

I have always loved Wikipedia as a child and am now glad to have it in my fingertips. EDIT: Last year (in 2022) I sent an email to Wikipedia requesting them to create me a Wikipedia account over my phone's IP being blocked. I'm pleasantly surprised about the swift response by Wikipedia team in admitting me as an editor. Now I've been an editor for the past one year and I'vee edited all those flaws in the articles which bothered me for long. Sorry for the late update in my reviews. FIVE STARS!!

Unmarked

Free. Creative common license. Good interface. Don't even present a login interface until trying to edit. Slick.

Jessica

IMHO it's the best app there is! It's the only app I use every day. The wealth of information is phenomenal. I appreciate that there are no ads and gladly make a donation. Keep up the good work Wikipedia!

Emily

I have had great viewing experiences using this app, but I find the user settings allowed on desktop are almost all either broken or next to impossible to find. One particular issue I found was that it would save none of my settings in the "Special:Preferences" area, nor would it allow me to publish my own common.js file. I've no clue if this stems from an issue in the app, wikipedia backend services, my phone, or just incompetence on my own part. My app is fully updated. Let me know, please.

Lachlan

I prefer the app over the web page of Wikipedia. Great, does the job perfectly and is really easy to use.

Matthew

I've enjoyed and supported Wikipedia over the years. However, due to Wikipedia's manipulation of Andrew Huberman's article, I will nolonger be contributing to Wikipedia. I am grateful to Wikipedia for the content it has provided me. I'm much more grateful to Andrew Huberman for what he has provided the world. And I don't condone their actions.

Christop

Complex and obscure compared to plain browser. Why abrupt rapid font size changers when trying to edit? Why no "visual" vs "wikitext" choice when viewing diffs?

Abdul

This app is very unique. Anyone can be satisfied throughout this app. There is a feature that allows a reader to read articles offline by categorizing them and this feature make me pleasant.

Dale

Mint! The save feature is excellent and it's customisation of settings is actually simple. It would be nice to let us that use a ѴРИ actually able to edit pages instead of disconnecting >.<

Pritish

Everything is pretty good, just a bit of an advice it should have a kid's mode or parental control's feature. Other than that it's best for learning making school or college project's...

Thomas

Please provide a home button in the app. It's many clicks to get home currently. EDIT 9/2023: Reducing by a star in hopes of getting attention to how difficult it is to get Home in this app.

loveradi

Everything was fine and I really liked the UI. But one thing : I can't zoom in picture shown in the article without automatically goes to the sides. I wonder if it's my device or the app. It really would been helpful if this problem is fixed. Another: why do talk page is called talk page and not discussion page? It make my mind is unused to the design experience of bringing my mind to talk page without feeling dizzy in what way that it is titled "talk".

Pranav

It's great although it takes some time getting used to. Good features at your fingertips. However the whole layout is too "skeletal." When you press and hold a link and then select "open new tab" it opens another window. But when you click on the link and then select "open new tab" it shows the new window underneath the current one. What's the point of that? And there should be more of a divide between the tabs that are opened one on top of the other in order to better distinguish them.

Shrabont

The app is very unique than the web. There are some things need to update. These are desktop software so that we can use 'the wikipedia desktop application', improve chrome's(android) wikipedia website and finally the tab switch feature on mobile aplication for fast experience. But Wiki app should have a built-in Highlighter.
