App REVIEWS

WilliaM

The app has good design and content, but there should be more in the free tier. Please fix it this, thanks!

Anton

If this service exists, I guess there' demand... I don't get why I need this. Blowing through paywalls is a breeze these days and I can always get ChatGPT, Bing or Bard curate content for me for free. Hell, I can read headlines myself... I just don't get why we need more content aggregators or whatever you call this thing. Sorry.

Judy

Why do you have to pay to read more articles? Your limit is 2 per month, which is really unideal for a news app. The articles themselves are really nice, it's easy to use and entertaining. I just hate how there's a limit for it. If you want to have a limit, make it alteast 10 per month or something. Otherwise, I prefer just looking up some other news websites for free.

Kay

There weren't as many options/categories that I saw in ads (such as: lgbtq - good news - feminism) But the set up is easy to understand and very direct. The features like summaries before articles are really nice as well. It does give you multiple povs on situations too. Just really sad about those missing categories. You can search those specific categories but I'd definitely rather have them in my news feed then going through the process of searching each category.

Tobi

This app has a great user interface. It loads quickly and has many options to choose (like changing the font size, many articles...). The only downside is that the app almost forces you to buy premium. What I mean is this: you have 1/2 of the article, to read the other half you need premium or if you want to read news from more 'known' publishers. So it'll be nice to make some changes about how the premium works.

Sky

Unable to click on articles. It says I am offline when I am not. 🤷♀️
----------
We would love to solve your issue. Can you reach out to us on feedback@informed.so so we can find a solution together? Thank you so much!

Guest

Getting US politics in Europe? No thanks. 1 free article per month is pretty stingy as well, considering premium cost 20€/mo
----------
Thank you! We have a subscription model because we aim to provide a premium experience with high-quality news content from trusted sources, coupled with a seamless, ad-free user experience. We offer a free trial specifically to give our potential subscribers an opportunity to experience all the benefits and features, without any commitments.

Luca

Sort of a Spotify for news articles, for only 8 bucks/month you get access to news from major news outlets in a very accessible way (sorted by topic, listing the length of the article, and no annoying ads). I'm now on the 14-days free trial but I might continue using the service!

Fgan

Can't signin because the magic link in my email doesn't open in the app... I can only access the service through the website Update: I tried again and it worked this time, the app work as you'd expect and there's only one detail that bugs me: the settings can only be accessed from the "saved" tab. It doesn't seem logical to me. All and all I don't feel like paying for a subscription to this service but thank you for reaching out again.
----------
Hey Fegan, did you try opening the magic link on the phone? I am very sorry you had issues but would love for you to try it again! Let us know if we can help you with getting into the app. Best Ben

Fran

Looks cool as an idea, but I found a bug at first sight. When choosing how (or how not to) be notified, the checkboxes don't work. I hate notifications, and for me, this is paramount. Hope to be back later to change my review! P.S. I did, it works fine, but now it costs money and it was free before...
----------
Hey Fran, we fixed the notifications, want to give us another try? :)

Callum

This is a great app and an easy way to see all the news I want and need.

Raphal

The paid subscription obviously serve to buy articles and show the most important for you ! Kinda pricey but good app

Tobias

The app is very slick and works very well. The only defect is that the quantity of news is a bit too little and you can't read most of the articles for free. Even with these defects , it overall completes it's function.

Chris

I hate when apps lock behind a pay wall feutures that were free. If you want to add a subscription then add new features for that. Plus it's way expensive while the only thing it does is to give you the links for other sites. If you produced original content I could understand the 60 dollars per year but 60 dollars for a link to read an article on BBC or on CNN is a big NO.
----------
Hey Chris, thank you for the feedback and I am very sorry for not getting back to you. You were part of the free beta that we ran to optimize the user experience before launching our subscription. As we curate premium articles, usually behind multiple paywalls we launched our very own subscription that gives you great value for money. Best Ben

Giulia

i voted it more stars before... but now most articles are behind a paywall ??? i was reading one, clicked out of it and suddenly it was locked. now i can read only 2 out of 8 articles on the main page. i don't care if you add ads, but i'd like to be able to read any articles ? or at least just make it a paid app, not another damn subscription service...
----------
Thank you for your feedback. As we curate premium content from some of the best publishers in the world we need to support our business through a subscription offer. I would love for you give it another try and send you an extended trial.

Lasse

Otherwise the app is great but it doesn't currently support 120Hz displays. If the app could be updated to support high refresh displays it would be 5 stars. The contents and the UI are very good!

Esteban

It's my go-to app for my morning news briefing. I love the quick access to several major publishers and the variety of subjects each day. The "lighter reads" section is a spot on

Victor

When logging in. Either with email or platform it redirects you to the browser, not the app. So the app is useless. The website version at least doesn't look very interesting. The 3 stars is because the idea is promising. Best of luck

Nimish

The most compelling part of the app is getting the important news of the day from the best publishers like The Economist, Financial Times, NYT, WSJ, among others in one app. Another cool feature is the Deep Dives on the news worthy topics that give you a 360-degree perspective of a topic.

Pedro

Notifications don't work. I installed this app and completely forgot about it's existence. Came back to it and found that push notifications have a bug and don't work at all making the app rather worse.
----------
Hey Dreadful, the bug should be fixed. Want to give us another try? :)
